System for monitoring and private assistance of people, such as elderly people or people with cognitive, physical or neurological problems, which is composed of a plurality of sensors to detect environmental conditions' descriptive parameters, and a plurality of sensors and / or devices sensing at least a person's position in said environment and, optionally, physiological parameters of the same. According to the invention the system includes: sensors and / or devices for monitoring the position of the person at topological level, which generate tracking signals of the person's position in time and in the context of a digital topological model of the environment; sensors monitoring the posture and / or the variation in time thereof and which provide status signals corresponding to predetermined postures and / or signals indicating variations in time of the monitored person's posture, the sensor signals being processed by a logic control unit with a software evaluating position and posture and the variation in time of the same and that classifies said signals according to predetermined categories of motor and / or postural activities, and carrying out a comparison between parameters such as: the rate of change of position and / or posture and / or the duration of such variations and / or the absence of the same and / or the congruency of the postures with the positions in the environment with same parameters relative to predefined patterns of execution of said movement or postural activities.

Abstract

According to the invention the system includes: sensors and / or devices for monitoring the position of the person at topological level, which generate tracking signals of the person's position in time and in the context of a digital topological model of the environment; sensors monitoring the posture and / or the variation in time thereof and which provide status signals corresponding to predetermined postures and / or signals indicating variations in time of the monitored person's posture, the sensor signals being processed by a logic control unit with a software evaluating position and posture and the variation in time of the same and that classifies said signals according to predetermined categories of motor and / or postural activities, and carrying out a comparison between parameters such as: the rate of change of position and / or posture and / or the duration of such variations and / or the absence of the same and / or the congruency of the postures with the positions in the environment with same parameters relative to predefined patterns of execution of said movement or postural activities.
