The study reviews the legal implications deriving from the more widespread use of drones and the consequent risk of collision with manned aircraft during takeoff and landing operations. Some of the issues, on which the author focuses her attention, are the definition of manned and unmanned aircraft, the application to drones of the rules relating to manned aircraft, the obligations of the operator of the drone, the aerodrome operator and the air carrier to adopt special measures to prevent a drone strike and their civil liability for damages suffered by passengers due to an accident involving a drone.
