Turismo cultural y eventos extraordinarios: el caso de la ciudad Genova

In Genoa, during the last twenty years there have been several changes that have profoundly transformed the image of the town. Before this transformation Genoa was associated almost exclusively with its port, it was not perceived as a tourist city of artistic and cultural interest. Nowadays, however, Genoa entered the national network of urban tourism based on the artistic and cultural resources. This paper presents the results of a questionnaire distributed to the visitors of one of the most important exhibitions held in town, Euroflora 2011. The aim of the questionnaire was to find out if: 1) the respondents visit or were going to visit some touristic attractions of the town; 2) Genoa can be considered as a tourist destination, 3) the level of satisfaction was acceptable as touristic destination. Thanks to the questionnaire was also possible to get visitors opinions and suggestions according to improve the tourist fruition of Genoa.
