Adsorption of ethylene on α-Fe2O3 in the temperature range between 300 and 673 K has been studied. At room temperature π-bonded species have been detected, and their adsorption bonding is discussed on the basis of the spectroscopic features. Abstract

Adsorption of ethylene on α-Fe2O3 in the temperature range between 300 and 673 K has been studied. At room temperature π-bonded species have been detected, and their adsorption bonding is discussed on the basis of the spectroscopic features. Combustion of these species at room temperature as well as partial oxidation to formate ions at 523 K have also been observed. © 1984.
