4-Amino-Substituted Pyrazolo[3,4-d]Pyrimidines: Synthesis and Biological Properties

A review. The synthesis of 4-amino-pyrazolo[3,4-d]pyrimidine derivs. and the functionalization of the core structure have been reviewed. The evolution of the scaffold from the pioneering work of Robins to the recent prepn. of selective pharmacol. active mols. is discussed in terms of synthetic methodologies to produce biol. active compds. The focus of this review is on the synthesis of the ring systems from pyrazoles only.
