Nora, Kasbah. Analisi stratigrafica degli elevati nell’area della “Domus 1"

In the area of the so-called Kasbah, a stratigraphic analysis of the walls has been started, with the aim of defining the construction phases and reconstructing the building history. Considering the size of the area, it was decided to divide it into several architectural complexes, which have been divided into buildings. In 2019, an excavation activity was carried out in the CF area and the stratigraphic analysis of the walls was started from this building and from the adjacent ones. The investigations, still in progress, have made it possible to highlight the presence of public areas (a fountain and an arcaded area), which were de-functionalized and reduced in size in the subsequent phases; during the late-antique period, the buildings perhaps in a state of neglect were partly reused, as can be seen from the identification of a lime kiln set on the remains of the fountain.
