L'OEUVRE DES TRAVAILLEURS EUX-MÊMES. IL SINDACALISMO D'AZIONE DIRETTA ITALIANO TRA ESILIO, CLANDESTINITÀ E DIASPORA DEI MILITANTI

Starting from an historical reflection about internationalism and transnationalism, the research focuses on the reconstruction and analysis of the Italian syndicalism of direct action between 1910 and 1930, by facing the phases experienced between the illegality and the exile following the rise to power of the Italian Fascism. Intended as “ Collective Biography” of the movement, the thesis analyses political and existential itineraries made by some militants in France and in Spain, by connecting them to the political changes within the movement. Thanks to the study of the structure and transnational militants’action, as well as the totality of trade union practices and anti-capitalist and anti-fascist solidarity, the thesis wants to reconstruct the conditions that allow the movement spread on an international level although in the absence of stable coordination structures
