As evidenced by Maria Carola Morozzo della Rocca paper "The Approach to boats restoration, the importance of restoring designer figure", nowadays, the designer plays a crucial role throughout the necessary process to restore a historic vessel. However, at a time when nautical restoration is fortunately increasing its importance, one person's sensitivity is no longer enough. With this report, we would like to propose a series of guidelines to lead anyone who approaches the restoration of a boat in the right direction. A protocol consisting of a series of steps that accompany the designer from the identification of the boat to the completion of its restoration, through all the fundamental phases such as historical research, survey, preliminary design, cost estimation and so on, including some post-restoration stages such as routine maintenance, protection and enhancement. This "Protocol for nautical restoration project" is the subject of the study for the doctoral thesis of the undersigned in the PhD course in Architecture and Design, Naval and Nautical curriculum at the University of Genoa, Italy. Therefore, the hope is that the “Protocol for nautical restoration project” may someday become a guide to the customary nautical restoration.

Abstract
Therefore, the hope is that the “Protocol for nautical restoration project” may someday become a guide to the customary nautical restoration.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
