Several Italian Universities launched an independent Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) Portal called EduOpen. The University of Genova presented six courses in 2016; one of the first offerings was the course titled “Anthropology of Health. Biosphere and Healing Systems”. The current study evaluated this MOOC according to participants’ experiences and expectations to develop recommendations for future edition. A subjective survey with both quantitative and qualitative items was administered to all of the course’s participants that completed the course. The effectiveness of the delivery of the course and the participant satisfaction were examined. The results from this study determined the course’s strengths and weaknesses, and also the aspects that require improvement. Future offerings of this course should incorporate these suggestions to increase learning and learner satisfaction. Findings revealed that the participants generally found MOOCs to be appealing given that the courses are free, adaptable, and easily accessible to everyone at every level.
