We conduct some quick reflection on the problem of the spread of new technologies in Italian schools. We analyze when these have made the official entrance into the school and why this has not happened in practice teaching. We illustrate a few examples of how new technologies (not just computers) could, and should, intertwined with (not only scientific) teaching; and we highlight how the scholarly publishing has been a major barrier to this spread. We indicate, finally, some of the resources available for free from the net that can help you cope with these problems.
