Manuele Locus de Sexto: un notaio duecentesco tra specializzazione, diversificazione e mobilità

The paper aims to analyze the notarial work of Manuele Locus de Sexto through three fragments of his cartularies, completed in Porto Maurizio (from May 5, 1252 to September 29, 1253) and Genoa (from February 11 to August 30, 1259; from February 13 to March 8, 1265). It is more difficult to define his role in Tyre (from June 19 to July 14, 1265), where he registered documents for Lanfranco de Carmadino, Ambassador of the Genoese Comune, and for those who accompanied him or already lived along the coast of Lebanon. Indeed, Manuele always mixes public commitments to private activities. Among his most recurrent records, are noteworthy the Sentences released by the Potestas of Porto Maurizio, modeled on the Genoese ones back to XIIth century, and the Inventories, written in both places and, for this reason, possibly hinting at a normative difference.
