La passione del derviscio (Šawq al-darwīš): alla ricerca del Sé nell’altro

Thanks to various literary and extraliterary factors, some crititcs believe no other Sudanese novel, after Mawsim al-hiğrah ilà al-šamāl (Season of Migration to the North - 1967) by al-Ṭayyib Ṣāliḥ, has attracted the attention of Arab critics and public as much as Šawq ad-darwīš (The Longing of the Dervish - 2014), by Ḥammūr Ziyādah. The present review intends to provide a synthetic analysis of this literary work.
