La delinquenza giovanile auto-rilevata in Italia: Analisi preliminare dei risultati dell'ISRD-3

This article will provide an overview of the evolution of juvenile delinquency in the Italian reality by comparing the data supplied by the third edition of the ''International Self-Report Delinquency Study" of 2013 and the results of previous research in 2006. To this aim, we analyzed the database of ISRD-3 for Italy and the data were compared with that relative of ISRD-2. In general there has been a slight decrease in antisocial behavior of young people that primarily affects males and is most evident for violent behavior. Regarding the use of substances, data supports an increased involvement in cannabis and alcohol use among juveniles. About the phenomenon of deviant groups, there was a decrease of belonging to youth gangs. The research results confirm the importance of ISRD as a tool for monitoring the condition of young people and represents a successful example of collaboration in national and international research.
