The relationship between ethics and nature in Habermas is treated with regard to two aspects: the need to dam a development of genetic technology that threatens “the future of human nature” from the point of view of a “species ethics”, and the criticism of a scientistic and reductionist “naturalism” which aims to replace the consciousness of freedom with a neurological determinism; in both cases the issue at stake is to save the autonomy of person who develops and acts in communicative relationship without demonizing technology nor completely rejecting the idea of a naturalization of mind.

Abstract
The relationship between ethics and nature in Habermas is treated with regard to two aspects: the need to dam a development of genetic technology that threatens “the future of human nature” from the point of view of a “species ethics”, and the criticism of a scientistic and reductionist “naturalism” which aims to replace the consciousness of freedom with a neurological determinism; in both cases the issue at stake is to save the autonomy of person who develops and acts in communicative relationship without demonizing technology nor completely rejecting the idea of a naturalization of mind.File in questo prodotto:
