A numerical modelization is presented suitable to predict performance of downdraft gasification technology by imposing chemical equilibrium. Predictions are compared with a parallel experimental investigation carried out in the authors' laboratory. The results confirm the possibility of correctly capturing the performance trends by adopting a numerical approach capable to discern if the equilibrium condition is really attained.

Abstract
