A recent repertory of still preserved medieval statutes of a small region as Liguria allows to provide some data indicative of the general picture and to select some suitable case-studies. The oldest statute texts of three cities and two villages are reviewed under the aspect of codicology, structure, language, and preservation: the Genoese brevia (till now dated 1143, 1157, 1161), namely texts sworn by consuls or citizens; a fragment of the statutes of Savona (Twenties of 13th century); the almost intact and long lasting statutes of Albenga (1288); the ones of the coast village of Varazze, drawn up by a notar for his professional use (1345); the one of the mountain village of Rezzo, contained in the local liber iurium (1505). The survey demonstrates the difficulty to build a tipology or meaningful sequences.

Abstract
The survey demonstrates the difficulty to build a tipology or meaningful sequences.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
