The T1 detector of the TOTEM experiment is devoted to the measurement of the inelastic rate of proton-proton interactions at the LHC. It is made of Cathode Strip Chambers. The complete electronic chains of front-end, readout and trigger are presented here. The electronics system has been developed keeping into account the hostile environment from the point of view of both radiation and magnetic field. Dedicated VLSI circuits have been extensively used in order to optimize space and power consumption. © 2012 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Abstract
The T1 detector of the TOTEM experiment is devoted to the measurement of the inelastic rate of proton-proton interactions at the LHC. It is made of Cathode Strip Chambers. The complete electronic chains of front-end, readout and trigger are presented here. The electronics system has been developed keeping into account the hostile environment from the point of view of both radiation and magnetic field. Dedicated VLSI circuits have been extensively used in order to optimize space and power consumption. © 2012 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.File in questo prodotto:
