The special characteristics of the 'Bio-direct' femoral component, which has been used in total hip replacement for approximately 7 years, are described. Although the current trend is to pair a cemented acetabular component with the Bio-direct femoral component, a new self-threading acetabulum (CAB 1) has recently been implanted in 12 patients. This new acetabular component is fully illustrated.

Abstract
The special characteristics of the 'Bio-direct' femoral component, which has been used in total hip replacement for approximately 7 years, are described. Although the current trend is to pair a cemented acetabular component with the Bio-direct femoral component, a new self-threading acetabulum (CAB 1) has recently been implanted in 12 patients. This new acetabular component is fully illustrated.File in questo prodotto:
