The focus of the article is on the dynamics and the procedures of the political discussion in the Homeric poems. The analysis is also devoted to show the role and the relevance of the kings, the áristoi and the mass in this decisional context. From the Iliad and the Odyssey it can be deduced that in the Homeric world does not exist a decisional system based on the vote. Moreover there is an element that, due to its relevance in the following Western political thought, I deeply examined in this article: when decisions concern a group as a whole, all the men, although, due to their status, provided with different decisional powers, must be present in the assembly.

Abstract
The focus of the article is on the dynamics and the procedures of the political discussion in the Homeric poems. The analysis is also devoted to show the role and the relevance of the kings, the áristoi and the mass in this decisional context. From the Iliad and the Odyssey it can be deduced that in the Homeric world does not exist a decisional system based on the vote. Moreover there is an element that, due to its relevance in the following Western political thought, I deeply examined in this article: when decisions concern a group as a whole, all the men, although, due to their status, provided with different decisional powers, must be present in the assembly.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
