Abstract

An adaptive nonlinear filtering technique has been recently developed on the basis of the integration between fuzzy and topological measures, for the filtering of a selected object in a grey level image. The extension of this approach to the filtering of the whole image is presented, with the latest obtained results. The performance of the proposed technique has been evaluated both from a qualitative point of view and from quantitative evaluation using standard error measures, with respect to different kinds of noise. The proposed methodology potentiates the previous works, overcoming some of their drawbacks and improving the performance
