Double Loop Electrochemical Potentiokinetic Reactivation (DL-EPR) test and potentiodynamic polarisations (PD) have been used to investigate the corrosion behaviour of AISI 304 stainless steels (SSs) and, in particular, to study the localised corrosion due to carbide precipitation at the grain boundaries after heat treatment. The behaviour of a conventional AISI304 SS has been compared with a thermomechanically processed AISI304 which possesses boundaries associated with low coincident site lattices (CSLs). The results from the different techniques and materials are discussed.

Abstract
Double Loop Electrochemical Potentiokinetic Reactivation (DL-EPR) test and potentiodynamic polarisations (PD) have been used to investigate the corrosion behaviour of AISI 304 stainless steels (SSs) and, in particular, to study the localised corrosion due to carbide precipitation at the grain boundaries after heat treatment. The behaviour of a conventional AISI304 SS has been compared with a thermomechanically processed AISI304 which possesses boundaries associated with low coincident site lattices (CSLs). The results from the different techniques and materials are discussed.File in questo prodotto:
