The purpose of this paper is to introduce the need for a systematic problem solving aid in industrial electrical power system design. Several computer codes are available to support the engineer during the development of the planning of an industrial network, but a complete view of the overall problem has so far almost completely been missed. A logical flow chart of the stages involved in the design of such electrical systems is here suggested and the proper CAD facilities are introduced and discussed. In particular, a coordinated set of advanced power system analysis programs, available at our Power System Laboratory, is presented. These codes cover a wide area of applications and enable one to perform both the steady state and the dynamic analysis of electrical networks.

Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to introduce the need for a systematic problem solving aid in industrial electrical power system design. Several computer codes are available to support the engineer during the development of the planning of an industrial network, but a complete view of the overall problem has so far almost completely been missed. A logical flow chart of the stages involved in the design of such electrical systems is here suggested and the proper CAD facilities are introduced and discussed. In particular, a coordinated set of advanced power system analysis programs, available at our Power System Laboratory, is presented. These codes cover a wide area of applications and enable one to perform both the steady state and the dynamic analysis of electrical networks.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
