This paper presents a system for the prediction of the conformation of the amino acids in proteins (secondary structure). This structure is extremely useful as a mean of understanding protein function. The presented systemintegrates the approach based on object oriented programming. The only information required is the knowledge of the sequence of the amino acids in the protein(primary structure). The combination of the neural network method and the knowledge based method allows retaining the best partial prediction for each zone improving the quality of the global prediction.
