A series of 1,3,4-thiadiazol-2(3H)-ones with a nicotinoyl/isonicotinoyl group in position 3 and an aroylamino substituent in position 5 of the ring was prepd. and evaluated for antipyretic and antiinflammatory activities. All the title compds. exhibited antiinflammatory activity and were devoid of antipyretic properties.
