Maxi yachts are very special products whose manufacturing is made possible thanks to the ability of craftsmen competent to satisfy the requirement of ship owner. Rigging and specifically furnishing is a fundamental activity that characterises the yacht and the owner affluence. This process rarely pursues efficiency and cost criteria; on an average it accounts for 30% of the whole yacht cost. This paper presents a new approach for the management and coordination of the fitting phase to improve the man-power efficiency, to reduce costs and delivery time. The proposed work organisation was tested on a 120 ft motor yacht.

Abstract
Maxi yachts are very special products whose manufacturing is made possible thanks to the ability of craftsmen competent to satisfy the requirement of ship owner. Rigging and specifically furnishing is a fundamental activity that characterises the yacht and the owner affluence. This process rarely pursues efficiency and cost criteria; on an average it accounts for 30% of the whole yacht cost. This paper presents a new approach for the management and coordination of the fitting phase to improve the man-power efficiency, to reduce costs and delivery time. The proposed work organisation was tested on a 120 ft motor yacht.File in questo prodotto:
