The needs identified in cross-cultural research, such as to give greater attention to the processes of assimilation of cultural values, beliefs and norms (Leventhal, Musumeci and Contrada, 2007) can be pursued through studies that investigate the communication processes between individuals from different cultures. The focus group is one of the qualitative techniques used in the field of applied social research. In this type of group, each participant becomes aware of the “views” of others on this issue and discusses them in the debate, triggering a process of negotiation that makes the data collected the product of interpersonal exchanges, rather than just expression of individual perspectives (Sondika et al, 2000). The aim of this work is to analyze the transcripts of focus group, attended by individuals from different country, which have as their object of deepening the concepts of health. The groups are made up of a sample of 30 nurses: 10 from Eastern Europe, 10 from South America and 10 from Italy. Were used the following tools: 1) the interview for the collection of personal data; 2) n. 5 focus group, three intra-ethnic and two inter-ethnic relations. Focus groups were videotaped and fully transcribed. Text analysis has allowed a careful reflection on the communication that has developed and the changes that have occurred during the meetings. At first sight the fundamental differences seem to relate to the perception that each group had of issues that affect health.

Abstract
At first sight the fundamental differences seem to relate to the perception that each group had of issues that affect health.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
