Instructional design for eLearning is changing under the influence of advances in technological fields such as the semantic Web, adaptive systems mobile technologies, etc. Microlearning is a new educational approach whose origin is related to the spreading behavioural tendency to ubiquitous computing. It tries to adapt education to the new condition of mobility and continuous computing by framing learning content into micro units and providing them during the day as short effort micro activities. In this paper we propose a framework for the development of microlearning systems, exploiting the technologies mentioned above, and in particular semantic technologies for knowledge representation and adaptive techniques for microlearning personalization and adaptation to user situation
