This paper encompasses translation and interpreting training in Italy with a bird’s eye view. The author —a former free-lance interpreter and translator now working as a teacher and a researcher in this field— tries to refute some of the most typical topics of translation: general vs. specialised translation, technical vs. literary, mediation vs. interpretation. These broad areas are dealt with in a quite provocative way, until coming to an alternative proposal of training.

Abstract
This paper encompasses translation and interpreting training in Italy with a bird’s eye view. The author —a former free-lance interpreter and translator now working as a teacher and a researcher in this field— tries to refute some of the most typical topics of translation: general vs. specialised translation, technical vs. literary, mediation vs. interpretation. These broad areas are dealt with in a quite provocative way, until coming to an alternative proposal of training.File in questo prodotto:
