The paper refers on an interdisciplinary activity, still under development, specifically oriented to the restoration of stringed musical instruments: the case of the violins is, in particular, focussed and discussed. Here mechanical and vibratory aspects are studied: the scope of the process is to take back the performances of the violin under restoration to its conditions before the intervention. Performances of violin families find often reference in famous instruments: structural vibration and dynamic models of classes of instruments can successfully aid the practical activity of violin makers, suggesting previously simulated interventions.

Abstract
The paper refers on an interdisciplinary activity, still under development, specifically oriented to the restoration of stringed musical instruments: the case of the violins is, in particular, focussed and discussed. Here mechanical and vibratory aspects are studied: the scope of the process is to take back the performances of the violin under restoration to its conditions before the intervention. Performances of violin families find often reference in famous instruments: structural vibration and dynamic models of classes of instruments can successfully aid the practical activity of violin makers, suggesting previously simulated interventions.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
