The purpose of his article is to examine several poems that praise God and his wonderful works in Sira’s book. Two long passages are discussed with regard to hymnic genre, themes and terminology, Sir 39,12-35 and 42,15- 43,35: the structure combines biblical patterns and literary conventions of hymns. Several pieces incorporate hymnic elements, transitions, vocabulary, verbs of praise and rhetorical procedures to emphasize the semantic of glory and to extol God’s creation. Particularly significant are certain verses with the expressions for the blessing-exclamation in religious context. The song of praise is Sira’s way of teaching and original expression of his theological thinking, because the heart of wisdom instruction contemplates the goodness of God’s creation.
