The use of GPS for survey in urban environment and more generally in presence of numerous obstacle, is still a challenging problem. In this situations an accurate planning is mandatory, but the traditional planning tools can only offer a partial solution. It happens sometimes that, especially for kinematics survey, the proper satellite visibility can be only verified after the campaign. A new planning software has been developed, based on a procedure that takes as input a DHM (or a model of buildings) and almanac data. The procedure has been successfully tested in two different zones of the town of Trento, to compare GPS and GPS+GLONASS systems possibly in real time.

Abstract
The use of GPS for survey in urban environment and more generally in presence of numerous obstacle, is still a challenging problem. In this situations an accurate planning is mandatory, but the traditional planning tools can only offer a partial solution. It happens sometimes that, especially for kinematics survey, the proper satellite visibility can be only verified after the campaign. A new planning software has been developed, based on a procedure that takes as input a DHM (or a model of buildings) and almanac data. The procedure has been successfully tested in two different zones of the town of Trento, to compare GPS and GPS+GLONASS systems possibly in real time.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
