The results of an experimental study concerning the determination of thermophysical properties of thermal insulators are presented. The temperature-dependent thermal diffusivity and the normalised volumetric heat capacity are simultaneously identified by a measurement of the time-temperature response of the material subjected to a transient heating. Several results related to the European standard reference for thermal conductivity of insulators (resin-bonded glass fibre board BCR 64) are presented and compared with certified data and with a simplified transient technique. A first series of results for EPB (expanded perlite board) is also reported.

Abstract
The results of an experimental study concerning the determination of thermophysical properties of thermal insulators are presented. The temperature-dependent thermal diffusivity and the normalised volumetric heat capacity are simultaneously identified by a measurement of the time-temperature response of the material subjected to a transient heating. Several results related to the European standard reference for thermal conductivity of insulators (resin-bonded glass fibre board BCR 64) are presented and compared with certified data and with a simplified transient technique. A first series of results for EPB (expanded perlite board) is also reported.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
