Evaluating water dynamics, e.g., in near shore regions, is very important for an effective coastal monitoring. This paper introduces a methodology leveraging a cost-effective Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) radar system for sea wave assessment. This approach offers a dependable mechanism to acquire essential insights into wave attributes in coastal areas. Experimental assessments are considered to preliminarily assess the suitability of the approach, demonstrating the capacity of the employed short-range radar to provide meaningful insights into coastal sea states.

Abstract
Evaluating water dynamics, e.g., in near shore regions, is very important for an effective coastal monitoring. This paper introduces a methodology leveraging a cost-effective Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) radar system for sea wave assessment. This approach offers a dependable mechanism to acquire essential insights into wave attributes in coastal areas. Experimental assessments are considered to preliminarily assess the suitability of the approach, demonstrating the capacity of the employed short-range radar to provide meaningful insights into coastal sea states.File in questo prodotto:
