Dimensioni modulari e misure dell’essere umano: il P.E.B.A. come strumento per soddisfare le esigenze di tutti.

The module has always been used as a measure of space; proportionality, a symbol of beauty, has dominated the field of representation. Le Corbusier, with his Modulor, managed to take this method of architectural composition to the extreme, going so far as to design entire houses using the dimensions established by his model. The search for a measure that defines environments becomes complex when the variable of the user, the human being, takes over; The needs of our society require a new way of sizing space, and the skills of designers, combined with international regulations on accessible and inclusive design, today make it possible to obtain architectures that can be used by anyone. The reflection that is carried out starts from the analysis of the state of the art, through a reflection on an iconic example of the home, L'Unité d'Habitation, introducing the accessibility guidelines indicated by the legislation and by the studies on Design for All. The result is a hypothesis of remodelled spaces that can be used by a greater number of users. We want to reflect on the differences with the past, in the context of spatial configuration and on the need for an innovative approach to the definition of measuring and dimensional modules.

Il modulo viene usato da sempre come misura dello spazio; la proporzionalità, simbolo di bellezza, ha dominato il campo della rappresentazione. Le Corbusier, con il suo Modulor, è riuscito ad estremizzare questo metodo di composizione architettonica, arrivando a progettare intere abitazioni tramite le dimensioni stabilite dal suo modello. La ricerca di una misura che definisca gli ambienti viene ad essere complessa nel momento in cui subentra la variabile del fruitore, l’essere umano; le esigenze della nostra società richiedono un nuovo modo nel dimensionare lo spazio, e le capacità dei progettisti, unite alle normative internazionali sulla progettazione accessibile ed inclusiva, oggi consentono di ottenere architetture fruibili a chiunque. La riflessione che si compie, parte dall’analisi dello stato dell’arte, attraverso una riflessione su un esempio iconico dell’abitazione, L’Unité d’Habitation, introducendo le linee guida sull’accessibilità indicate dalla normativa e dagli studi sul Design for All. Si ottiene così un’ipotesi di spazi rimodellati che possono risultare fruibili ad un maggior numero di utenti. Si vuole riflettere sulle differenze con il passato, nell’ambito della configurazione spaziale e sull’esigenza di un nuovo approccio alla definizione di moduli misuratori e dimensionali.
