The note retrieves the special report Undici poeti giudicano Montale (Eleven poets judge Montale) that was published on 17 November 1975 in “Gente” (XIX, 46, pp. 75-78 and 80), after the news of the Nobel Prize for literature had been awarded, and the note returns writings by Carlo Betocchi, Giorgio Caproni, Luciano Budigna, Giuliano Gramigna, Ugo Fasolo and Alberico Sala. Together with their judgements, that are recollections related to Montale and personal rereadings of his poetry that may offer foods for thought and tracks for research, Enzo Fabiani, editor of the weekly maga- zine’s cultural pages, repurposed a couple of reviews by Sergio Solmi and Pier Paolo Pasolini, excerpts of essays by Mario Luzi and Elio Filippo Accrocca, and a “fierce” portrait by Leonardo Sinisgalli.
