Te use of new communication technologies integrated with artifcial intelligence entails ethical and political issues posed by the increasing capacity for autonomous action of these technologies and the ethical commitment to respect the autonomy of individuals by ensuring transparency and accessibility. Te article analyses the innovations that have led from Healthcare 2.0 to Healthcare 4.0. Te critical issues related to digital nudges and the use of robots are examples for an ethical and political refection oriented towards a governance of the NHS based on the co-responsibility of all stakeholders, on a contex- tualist approach to the problems induced by the use of artifcial intelligence, on the inte- gration of human and artifcial intelligence and on the development of Connected Care.
