Abstract
Communication plays a pivotal role in restoring cultural heritage to the communities it rightfully belongs to. By sharing its meaning and potential, heritage can regain significance in the present, contributing not only to the construction or reconstruction of awareness and historical perspective but also making tangible contributions to local economies. In Italy, cultural consumption, which was already at relatively low levels before the COVID-19 pandemic, experienced a significant decline during the health emergency. Although there is a slight recovery today, economic uncertainty and challenging international political situations may hinder further growth. In this context, the role of cultural heritage professionals becomes crucial as they navigate the delicate mediation between cultural heritage and communities. The communication of cultural heritage can significantly benefit from the widespread use of information technologies. However, intriguing applications can also be found in the revitalization and reinterpretation of traditional communication systems. In the realm of communication within museums and archaeological parks, there are rich experiences and extensive bibliographies continuously being updated. The situation is more challenging when it comes to communication on archaeological sites, demanding further reflection and consideration.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
