This article analyzes some aspects of the site of San Luca, a private church of Genoese aristocratic Spinola family. Unpublished documents allow us to understand particular system of political administration, reserved to periodical Spinola governatores in number of three and, in the meantime, to add some news to dated fresco cycle made by Domenico Piola and his workshop. Focusing on the chronology of the commission and payments of painters and sculptures (Domenico Piola, Daniele Solaro and Domenico with Gio Antonio Parodi) we can consider the decoration of the church of San Luca a corporate work Spinola-Grimaldi carried out in two different seasons, according to Federigo Alizeri: ante 1684 and, in a second moment, about 1690.
