This introductory chapter, in addition to summarizing the main themes addressed in the subsequent contributions, provides a geographical description of the Golfo Paradiso and an in-depth analysis of the tourist accommodation offerings and demand, considering both the foreign and hotel/non-hotel components. The data related to the historical series of tourist movements has also highlighted the extent to which Covid-19 has impacted the entire area and individual municipalities.
