La questione della neuhumanistische Bildung nella cultura pedagogica contemporanea: note a margine del libro La Bildung neoumanistica. Germania e Europa nell’Età di Goethe

The article dwells upon the 2023 volume "La Bildung neoumanistica. Germania e Europa nell’Età di Goethe", by Mario Gennari. Through some annotations on the book, the article focuses on the German pedagogical concept of Bildung (human selfformation). It constitutes the precious legacy that comes to the contemporary age from Neuhumanismus, i.e. Neohumanism that took place between 1750 and 1850 in German-speaking countries. Both the authors of this historical period – in which the highest theoretical peaks of pedagogy were reached – and Gennari's book bring out a philosophy of formation aimed first of all at defending and preserving the peculiarly humanistic character of Bildung, understood as the «profound essence of the human being and humanity».

L'articolo si sofferma sul volume del 2023 "La Bildung neoumanistica. Germania e Europa nell’Età di Goethe", di Mario Gennari. Attraverso alcune note a margine del libro, viene messo a fuoco il pedagogico concetto tedesco della Bildung (formazione umana). Essa costituisce la preziosa eredità che proviene all'età contemporanea dal Neuhumanismus, ossia il Neoumanesimo collocantesi tra 1750 e 1850 nei Paesi germanofoni. Tanto gli autori e le opere di tale periodo storico – in cui si raggiunsero le più alte vette teoretiche della pedagogia – quanto il libro di Gennari restituiscono una filosofia della formazione atta anzitutto a difendere e preservare il carattere peculiarmente umanistico della Bildung, intesa quale «essenza profonda dell'uomo e dell'umanità».
