The task of this contribution is to examine the sentence Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organi ruling handed down by the U.S. Supreme Court in 2022, which, overruling the precedents Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey, ruled that termination of pregnancy is a matter of the States. Two issues that emerge from the afore-mentioned judgment are discussed: the first aims to explore whether the ruling is the result of the influence of the Catholic and conservative tradition; the second focuses on whether the effects of the ruling can find a barrier in modern constitutionalism.
