The authors report their experience with 157 operations of colorectal surgery, 76 performed with manual technique and 81 using surgical staplers. The comparison between the two groups of patients shows the equality of the methods with regard to safety, considering the greater number of anastomoses under 12 cm in the second series. It is moreover pointed out that the percentage of local recurrence is not influenced by the surgical technique.

Abstract
The authors report their experience with 157 operations of colorectal surgery, 76 performed with manual technique and 81 using surgical staplers. The comparison between the two groups of patients shows the equality of the methods with regard to safety, considering the greater number of anastomoses under 12 cm in the second series. It is moreover pointed out that the percentage of local recurrence is not influenced by the surgical technique.File in questo prodotto:
