In the present paper, part of the state of the art of the activities of the University of Genoa (UNIGE) in the context of ship underwater radiated noise is presented, focusing attention on propeller design by optimisation and model testing at the University cavitation tunnel. All the activities were carried out in a series of EU funded projects and projects financed on national level.
