Abstract

Monte Baldo extends for about 40 km between Adige Valley and Garda Lake, between Trentino and Veneto and has been a destination for botanical and mountaineering explorations from all over Europe for almost five centuries. With this work we want to offer a synoptic and diachronic reading of the descriptions of this mountain group landscape by botanists, travelers and scholars between the modern age and the twentieth century, including those made during the First World War.
