The article highlights the role played by the hospitality sector, particularly luxury hotels, during the 1922 Genoa Conference. On that occasion, hotels hosted delegations from participating countries and provided them with high levels of comfort. In addition, thanks to their ability to ensure confidentiality and function as a neutral ground, they were ideal places for formal and informal meetings and discussions between delegations and groups. Therefore, by combining diplomacy and hospitality, luxury hotels also played a role in international relations.
