This essay explores questions of transparency and opacity from an ontological-personal point of view. When can we, if at all, consider a person really himself, “above all suspicion”? Who speaks and acts in a completely authentic way? If we pay particular attention to Ricoeur’s concept of narrative identity, authenticity can be described as a process of continuous self-elaboration and can be revisited through the ethical concept of reliability.

Abstract
This essay explores questions of transparency and opacity from an ontological-personal point of view. When can we, if at all, consider a person really himself, “above all suspicion”? Who speaks and acts in a completely authentic way? If we pay particular attention to Ricoeur’s concept of narrative identity, authenticity can be described as a process of continuous self-elaboration and can be revisited through the ethical concept of reliability.File in questo prodotto:
