This article focuses on a comparative analysis of the intersemiotic translation of the novel The Fish Child [El niño pez] (2004) and its homonymous film adaptation (2009), written and produced, respectively, by Lucía Puenzo. Considering that, although in a different way, he multilingualism in the two versions of The Fish Child [El niño pez] are composed of passages in Guaraní, the space given to that indigenous language in both the literary and the filmic text will be analyzed. To do this, fragments in which dialogues in Guaraní are presented as well as passages in which the transposition from one language to another is outstanding will be examined.

Este artículo centra su atención en un análisis comparado de la traducción intersemiótica de la novela El niño pez (2004) y de su homónima adaptación cinematográfica (2009), escrita y realizada, respectivamente, por Lucía Puenzo. Considerando que, aunque de modo diferente, el multilingüismo en las dos versiones de El niño pez está dado a partir de los pasajes en lengua guaraní, se analizará el espacio otorgado a dicha lengua indígena tanto en el texto literario como en el fílmico. Para ello, se examinarán fragmentos en los que se presentan diálogos en guaraní como también pasajes en los que se evidencia la transposición de una lengua a otra.
