This article focuses on a comparative analysis of the intersemiotic translation of the novel The Fish Child [El niño pez] (2004) and its homonymous film adaptation (2009), written and produced, respectively, by Lucía Puenzo. Considering that, although in a different way, he multilingualism in the two versions of The Fish Child [El niño pez] are composed of passages in Guaraní, the space given to that indigenous language in both the literary and the filmic text will be analyzed. To do this, fragments in which dialogues in Guaraní are presented as well as passages in which the transposition from one language to another is outstanding will be examined.
