Paola Barocchi e il Centro di Ricerche per i Beni Culturali della Scuola Normale Superiore di Pisa: ai primordi delle Digital Humanities

Il saggio intende offrire un apporto documentato sull'importanza che Paola Barocchi, docente per molti anni alla Scuola Normale di Pisa, ha avuto nel campo dell'applicazione delle tecnologie informatiche ai Beni Culturali. A tal fine chi scrive ha condotto una ricognizione sul ruolo che la docente fiorentina ha saputo conquistarsi nella nascita delle nuove metodologie di indagine grazie all'esame dei molti contributi che Paola Barocchi ha redatto nel corso della sua lunga carriera accademica così come facendo ricorso alle numerose testimonianze che ci sono rimaste della sua indefessa laboriosità unita ad una vivace curiosità intellettuale. The essay aims to offer a documented contribution on the importance that Paola Barocchi, Full Professor for many years at the Scuola Normale in Pisa, had in the field of the application of information technology to the cultural heritage. To this end, the author conducted a survey on the role that the Florentine scholar has achieved in the birth of the new investigation methods, thanks to the analysis of some of the many contributions that Paola Barocchi has realized during her long academic career together with the numerous evidences that are left of her tireless labor coupled with a lively intellectual curiosity.
