Between 2016 and 2018, the University of Genoa conducted an archaeological excavation in Pompei, inside some tabernae of the regio VII, insula 14. Within one of these areas (VII,14,3.1), the excavation has been deepened and traces of a series of small structures, mostly built in earth and wood, have been brought to light. Probably used as latrines, these structures date back to the II century BC. Their rapid succession and the changes in their positioning provide interesting clues to understand how the area was used before the tabernae were built.

Abstract
Between 2016 and 2018, the University of Genoa conducted an archaeological excavation in Pompei, inside some tabernae of the regio VII, insula 14. Within one of these areas (VII,14,3.1), the excavation has been deepened and traces of a series of small structures, mostly built in earth and wood, have been brought to light. Probably used as latrines, these structures date back to the II century BC. Their rapid succession and the changes in their positioning provide interesting clues to understand how the area was used before the tabernae were built.File in questo prodotto:
