Gino de Dominicis has long been obsessed by the idea of the presence of extraterrestrial beings intervening in human life on Earth. From the 1980’s, his paintings are filled with ancient culture symbolic references, such as Sumerian ones. All along his artistic carreer, Gino de Dominicis has tried to question scientific dogma in order to create a personal truth; one of his most famous attempts has been his quest to attain immortality in everyday life. In addition to giving a historical context to the artist’s research, this essay analyzes how Eighties Sci-Fi theories, para-science and pop culture concerning extraterrestrials deeply influenced his artworks.

Gino de Dominicis has long been obsessed by the idea of the presence of extraterrestrial beings intervening in human life on Earth.
